Machu Picchu (bahasa Quechua Machu Pikchu, "Gunung Tua"; it is also called "Kota Inca yang hilang") it is the ruins of Inca pra-columbus which located in mountainous region. Machu Picchu is located on Urubama valley at Peru.  It was the most famous symbol of Inka kingom. It built around 1450 but had been leaving 100 years after that when Spanyol conquered it. This had oblivious by the world until an archeologist from university of Yale Hiram found it on 1911. Since that time, this site become famous and many visitors came to visit it.

Machu Picchu was built in ancient style of Inka with polished brick. The main building is Intihuatana, “Sun” temple, and a room with three windows. Those places are called as sacred distric from Machu Picchu.

Since 1983, this site was chosen by UNESCO as one of the world heritage, and it is also chosen as one of the newest 7 wonders of the world. It had taken big attention because of the damage causes by the visitor (on 2003, more than 400.000 people come to visit this site).

Narrative text adalah text yang menceritakan kejadian di masa lampau dengan tujuan untuk menghibur dan menanamkan nilai-nilai tertentu. Narrative text memiliki.

Menghibur dan menanamkan nilai-nilai moral tertentu pada pembaca.	v ORIENTATION Berisi pengenalan tokoh, waktu, dan lokasi terjadinya cerita. v  COMPLICATION Berisi masalah/krisis yang dialami oleh tokoh. v  RESOLUTION Berisi tentang bagaimana sang tokoh menyelesaikan masalah yang dialaminya.	1.      Menggunakan past tense. 2.      Berfokus pada objek atau topic tertentu. 3.      Terdapat direct indirect speech didalamnya. 4.      Menceritakan tentang topic tertentu

Sebagaimana sebuah cerita, narrative text memiliki banyak inti cerita. Dari situlah narrative text dibagi sesuai dengan inti dan tujuan cerita tersebut. Berikut ini adalah jenis-jenis narrative text:

MALIN KUNDANG

    

                  This is a story about Malin Kundang. He was a boy from a very poor family who lived with his mom. His father is a sailor but he had already died. Malin was a smart boy but a bit naughty. He always chased a chicken and hit it with a broom, until one day he slip off and hurt himself. The wound left a scar and on his hand. When Malin grew up, he decided to go to city, so one day he would become rich by the time he went back to the village. Malin’s mother disagreed with his decision because he was the only one she had. But Malin had already made up his mind, his mother had no other choice but to let her only child go.

     

              Malin was travelling by sea, so he came along with one rich merchant. He was hoping to become one of his crew and learnt from that merchant. Malin went to anyplace wherever the wind took him. Soon he will become a great successful man. Many years passed since that. Malin has become a rich merchant because of his hard and marry the most beautiful in the world and he had forgotten his mother as well as the village. On the other hand, Malin’s mother was getting older. She missed her child so much that she had always wait for Malin’s return at the harbor everyday until one day there was a merchant who stopped by the village.

     

            She knew it was Malin the moment she saw him. What makes her so sure is because of the scar on his hand. But Malin deny her as his mother because Malin felt ashamed to his wife and the crew, then he was gone. Malin’s mother was really upset then she started to curse him. On his journey, Malin’s ship begun to shaking and soon it turned into a stone until now.
